A friend of mine offered to take me on a wonderful flying excursion.
Being a recently minted private pilot, he had rented a Cessna 172. This is the same kind of plane I usually fly. So, it was fun for me to watch how someone else pilots this craft.
This was in springtime; all the crops hadn’t been planted yet. We could see some of the contour fields being plowed and seeded.
We flew from an airport in Wisconsin near Lake Michigan. Directly West along the Wisconsin Illinois border. I have driven this route several times. I never really appreciated the scenery until I flew over it.
During our little multi day adventure we stopped at several interesting small airports and grass airstrips.
Because of the hospitality of his friends and relatives we had some wonderful evenings of pleasant conversation and delicious meals.
